Lava Meltdown

My friend invited me to go with her for a getaway to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. It's about a 3 hour drive from my place. Not only did we enjoy a nice dip the hot mineral springs but we also walked around the tiny town of Lava enjoying their quaint shops.

Lava Meltadown is an annual event for Contra dancers who came from Utah, Idaho, Washington, Virginia and Montana. They had workshops, and dances for three days.  I got to dance one dance on the last day since it was the afternoon session but I have been too ill to participate and I did not sign up in time.

Bridge in Lava over Portneuf River.

The hottest pool in at Lava but they have others that don't cook you.

Whitey the frog beyond the fence.

Alligator on the roof behind the wooden fencing.

They still have lots of snow on their south mountain.

I like sinking into a good hot spring when there is still snow on the landscape.

Nice fence, but I think I've lived in the frozen north too long to appreciate a hot spring. I bet it's good for the aches and pains though.

That looks an amazing place. Sorry to hear you've not been well - get better soon! How And (why) did the alligator get on the shed roof?
