100 Year Old Doll

This little lady is 100 years old and she is wearing her original clothes. She was our guest today at DUP where she was showing off.  She was cuddled and wrapped in a new blanket. She does have a little crack on her face but what do you expect after 100 years.

She has very long hair that was braided by a granddaughter.

In 1889 young women wore chemilettes and leglettes. We don't hear of those these days - I thought that it may have come from chemise but not so.

Two suggestions came from the Young Women's Journal.  Put a vanilla bean in your sugar.  Always sew pockets on the inside of the apron - that way, they won't catch on things.
